Hollyhocks Starting to Grow
While these hollyhocks grew last season,
I was excited this week to see new
hollyhocks beginning to peak up
out of the ground. Let's hope
spring is here to stay so I can
have more of these beauties soon.

Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden
The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden
is a real treat, especially this time of year when
it's cold outside and we can't do any gardening.
I recently spent some time taking photos at
the garden and will be posting some of my favorites.
I love this one for it's wonderful colors and the
splash of green amongst the reds.

Hoar Frost
Hoar frost is a type of frost
that forms when the air is moist
and the moisture freezes on objects.
We had hoar frost today.
The ice crystals are beautiful.
