America the Beautiful from the Top of Pikes Peak


Katherine Lee Bates wrote the poem 
(yes, originally a poem)
"America the Beautiful" in 1893
after traveling across part of the United States
and then visiting Pikes Peak.
I was recently at the top of Pikes Peak
and can understand all the beauty
Ms. Bates saw in our outstanding nation.
Happy Independence Day, Americans, 
on this 4th of July in the most 
beautiful and the greatest
country in the world!
