A Gem in the City
What a gem,
in the middle of downtown Des Moines,
to find this church,
looking as it belongs in England.
It is gorgeous inside and out.

God's Mysterious Ways
Most, if not all,
of the photos I post here
are pictures I've taken
with my "nice" camera.
This photo was taken
on my smart phone.
I was driving home
and the sunset was gorgeous.
I was regretting not having
my camera with me.
The sunset was so beautiful,
I just had to pull over and
at least try to get some image
on my phone.
This is the photo I took.
I was blown away by the image.
God works in mysterious ways.

The Cathederal Church of St.Paul
But Jesus said,
“Let the little children come to me
and do not hinder them,
for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Going Out
I only went out for a walk
and finally concluded to stay out
till sundown,
for going out,
I found,
was really going in.

Water and Tears
Don't be ashamed to weep;
'tis right to grieve.
Tears are only water, and flowers, trees,
and fruit cannot grow without water.
But there must be sunlight also.
A wounded heart will heal in time,
and when it does,
the memory and love of our lost ones
is sealed inside to comfort us.

In memory of Kathlynn Sheperd of Dayton, Iowa.
Taken from Earth,
wrapped safely in God's arms.

I Did Not Die
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
